What is CESMII and why should I join?

We are CESMII (sez-ME), the Smart Manufacturing Institute. Funded by the U.S. government, we are a non-profit organization established as your primary advocate for SM and your primary source for industry networking, education and workforce development, funded research projects and a Smart Manufacturing Interoperability Platform to enable your digital transformation.

How do I know which membership tier is right for my organization?

Membership is based on your organization's size, role, and engagement level. Use our tier comparison or contact us for help choosing the right fit. 

What benefits do members receive?

Members get access to CESMII’s Smart Manufacturing Interoperability Platform, tools and templates, SM Profiles, training, funding opportunities (at higher tiers), and a national network of peers and partners. 

How much does membership cost?

Membership starts at $84/month (must be billed annually) for small organizations, with options for mid-size and enterprise-level engagement. View the membership tiers for more.

Can I upgrade my membership later?

Yes, you can upgrade within your membership year at a prorated rate based on your new tier.

 

Is this only for manufacturers?

No. Our members include system integrators, technology providers, educators, research institutions, machine builders, and nonprofits supporting the manufacturing sector.

Do members have to be located in the U.S.?

While CESMII is a U.S.-based initiative, international organizations aligned with our mission are welcome to join and participate pending approval by the Department of Energy.

What happens after I join?

You’ll receive a welcome email with access to the Membership Hub, where you can log in, select your persona, and explore curated content and tools relevant to your role.

 

How do I access the Smart Manufacturing tools and platform?

Once logged in, members can explore the Knowledge Base, Smart Manufacturing Profiles, and gain access to CESMII’s Interoperability Platform depending on their tier. 

Can more than one person from my organization use the Membership Hub?

Yes! We encourage sharing access across your team. Primary contacts can invite colleagues to register under your organization’s membership.
